Fiscal Year 2010 Prescribed Burning Project

On November 18, 2009, District Ranger Erin Bronk made a decision to conduct prescribed burning and related activities in Putnam, Jones, and Jasper Counties. Approximately 26,216 acres are planned for burning with approximately 1 mile of new fireline construction. Burning may occur any time of the year, however, most burning will occur in late winter through early spring (February April). A copy of the Decision Memo is available upon request from the Oconee Ranger District. For further information regarding this project, contact the District Ranger at (706) 485-1776 ext. 102. This type of decision is not subject to a higher level of administrative review or appeal. Implementation may begin immediately.
